2
Roll out one of the crusts and fit it into a 9-inch pie pan, leaving some extra dough around the edges. Place the apple mix inside the pie crust.
3
Cut the second pie crust into 1/2-inch-wide strips after rolling it out. Place half of the strips vertically on top of the filling, and then weave the other half of the strips horizontally to make a lattice top.
4
Cut off any extra dough on top of the lattice crust. To seal, press and crimp the edges of the bottom crust and the top crust together.
5
Put the pie in the oven at 425°F for 15 minutes. Then turn down the heat to 350°F and bake for another 35 to 45 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and the apples are soft.
6
Let the pie cool down for about two hours before cutting it. Have fun!
Instruction
1
Make sure your pie dough and butter are cold for a flakier crust. Don't touch the dough too much.
Egg wash the top of the lattice to make it look shiny and browned.
2
Try out different edge styles, such as fork crimps or dotted edges that are evenly spaced. Add vanilla bean ice cream or fresh whipped cream on top.
